A circuit for generating a frequency with a constant difference w.r.t. a control frequency is partic. useful for stroboscopic observation of periodic events whose period is not constant. It avoids time consuming and inaccurate manual frequency adjustment turning the measurement and observation process. A triangular signal of frequency equal to that of the control frequency signal is generated and compared with a control voltage. A difference signal is produced when the control amplitude exceeds the triangular signal amplitude. It is amplified to produce a stroboscope synchronisation signal with phase dependent sign.
