The Archamedian screw feeder (18) is mounted centrally in the silo which may be square or circular in shape. The screw is driven from a central cone (1) having three arms (3) fixed to the silo wall at the outside edges by a plate (5). A tunnel (4) is fixed to the silo by the plate (6). The drive motor (10) drives the pulley (7). A Vee-belt running in the pulley drives a horizontal pulley under the cone. The screw is driven off this through a bevel gear, and the horizontal sweep of the screw is obtained through planetary gears.
