A tap selector for a tapped transformer comprises insulating members spaced around the circumference of a circle and provided with sequentially actuable tap contacts in planes (U1, U2, V1, V2, W1, W2) spaced axially with each pair of adjacent planes relating to a respective phase with the sequentially actuable contacts in alternate planes. The spacing in one plane between the last contact (K) and the penultimate but one contact 16 and the second contact 2 is greater than that between other adjacent contacts. The first and penultimate contacts 1, 17 are disposed approximately at the opposite side of the circle to the last contact (K). A member provided only the even-numbered contacts (8) is disposed between the members carrying the first contact (1) and the penultimate contact (17), and an insulating member provided with only the odd-numbered contacts (9) is disposed between the members provided with the last contact (K) and the penultimate but one contact (16).
