The unit moves vulnerable products such as vegetables, meat, fish etc. It comprises a container for receiving the products and a liquid transport medium, a pipe line connecting the container with a vessel, and a pump to produce a vacuum in the vessel. The pipe line may contain a non-return valve to prevent return flow to the container. The vessel may have a bottom closure operated by a cylinder actuator. The actuator may be coupled to a switch which connects the vessel to the vacuum pump when a control valve is closed.
