Pharmaceutical prepn. (I) contg. lipase of non-animal origin contains 10-50 pts. wt. (based on 100 g (I)) of a mixt. comprising 70-90 (wt.) % lactose, 8-20% whey protein, 0.1-3% milk fat, 0.1-5% whey minerals and 0.1-3% water. Used to treat digestion troubles caused by a disturbed liver or gall bladder as indicated by flatulence, feeling full, rumbling, pressure pains and spasmodic pains. The stability of the lipase is improved. The effect begins immediately in the stomach, after mixing with the food without delays due to decomposition or dissolution.
