Textile fabric made of cotton or synthetic fibres has at least one surface printed with a pattern resembling an expensive textile fabric, pref. that of natural silk. Fabric whilst being a very good imitation of the expensive fabric has better wearing, washing and durability properties. Pref. the fabric is produced from very fine cotton yarn in the form of satin and the printed pattern of natural silk has the required sheen and the nodules of natural silk extend along the weft yarn direction. Pref. the sheen is produced after printing in a finishing stage of the fabric.
