The fixing device consists of a fixing strip (1) made of plastic. This is U shaped, the centre of the U (1a) having fixing slots (3) which are rectangular in shape. The side pieces are flexible. The strip is wound around the object to be held, with the side pieces on the outside. The locking element (2) is moulded in plastic. It has openings (4) and (4') which receive the ends of the strop. Two opposed claws (5) and (5') with inclined faces engage firmly in the slots in the strip, the centre of the U deforming elastically as the short strips separating the slots (3) pass over the claws. The strip (1) is tightened around the object by pulling its ends through the openings (4) and (4').
