Fixing bolts through conveyor belt - by using spikes receiving bolts which are hit to drive spikes through belt

This method of fixing transverse rows of bolts on to conveyor belts, for the attachment of for example buckets involves screwing each bolt (Bo) into a case hardened steel spike (12) which has a tapped hole of such a depth that a gap, the thickness of the belt, is left between the top of the spike and the underside of the bolt head. The spike is then driven through the belt, until the belt fits into the gap. When the bolt has been inserted, the spike is removed and replaced by the desired component. A fitting board which facilitates marking out the bolt positions on the belt guided between a scale and adjustable edge has a pivoting traverse bar with adjustable markers. A transverse slot allows the spikes to be driven through whilst the belt is supported on the board.
