Separator removing straw from animal excreta - has first vibratory screen passing material to second finer sloping vibratory screen

The separator comprises a rectangular vibratory screen located at the discharge end of a gutter carrying the excreta of farm animals. The excreta is conveyed from gutter to screen by a reciprocating scraper conveyor. The conveyor pref. comprises a reciprocating rod fitted with one-way, retractable scrapper blades. The convey-extends right across the screen which is thus discharged by the conveyor at the same rate at which it is loaded. Material which passes through apertures of the screen pref. drops onto a second, finer, adjustably sloped screen. The conveyor scraper blades are made of rubber and set just clear of or lightly touching the screen surface.
