Table top with extension lead - has central leaf sprung vertically into gap formed by swinging outer leaves on levers

The table has an extendable top which may extend from a square to a rectangular plan-form. The extension leaf occupies a central transverse zone and moves with a combined rotational and lifting action from a position beneath the outer leaves which slide apart to allow the extension leaf to rise and locate through 90 deg. about a vertical axis. The extension leaf is mounted on a central axle (5) with a torsion spring (7) effecting twisting and lifting. The extension leaf may be mounted on a support plate (4) with a spindle projecting vertically beneath. The spindle fits slideably in a tube (6) projecting from a horozintal chassis member (C). A double-elbow joint pivoting linkage (10, 11, 12) may coordinate the sliding of the outer leaves.
