The post may be isolated or within a building and is erected in a sump which receives the excrement and empties it to a sewer. At its upper edge the post has a tubular rail with a number of perforations in it to allow water under pressure to flow along the walls of the post. The sump also has a tubular rail around its periphery which is perforated to allow water under pressure to flow over the bottom which slopes towards the centre so as to carry the excrement with it.
