PURPOSE:To measure rapidly the time change rate of fat soluble ion concentration based on existence of endoplasmic reticulum as the time change rate of the electrode potential, by using the electrode which responds selectively to fat soluble ions and is inserted into liquid including fat soluble ions and suspended endoplasmic reticulum. CONSTITUTION:Fat soluble ion concentration in endoplasmic reticulum suspension is changed by putting first endoplasmic reticulum in suspension 12 including no fat soluble ion and by adding fat soluble ions to suspension 12 after the potential difference between electrodes 13 and 14 becomes fixed. Otherwise, the fat soluble ion concentration in endoplasmic reticulum suspension is changed by adding liquid different in fat soluble ion concentration to suspension after the potential difference between electrodes 13 and 14 brought into contact with suspension 12 including fat soluble ions and endoplasmic reticulum becomes fixed. Thus, the time change rate of the potential difference between electrodes 13 and 14 after rapid change of fat soluble ion concentration is measured.
