The inner surface of the front wall of the insert, Fig. 4 (not shown), has four channels leading tangentially to a swirl chamber adjacent an orifice 20 and four members 21 to guide the post to its correct position where its free end 18 provides one side of the channels and chamber. Alternatively, the pair of pads 19 may be replaced by one C-shaped pad or by two intersecting diametrically disposed ribs, and the insert may be positioned in the top of the spray head to direct spray upwards, the spray head then controlling a tilting valve.
