A grease contains (a) a lubricating oil; (b) 0.5-10 (1-15) wt. % esp. 3-7 of a mono- and/or polyurea cpd. with 1-8 (3-4) ureido gps. and MW 375-2500 (600-1200) as thickener and (c) 3-30 (4-15) wt. % alkaline earth metal carbonate. The grease is inexpensive can be used in high-temp., high -speed apples., and has good extreme pressure properties. Addn. of the carbonate gives lubricants of the same dropping point with only about 50% of the mono- and/or polyurea. Additional extreme pressure additives are not necessary.
