INVENTION: Glassy Alloys having Near-Zero Magnetostrictionand High Saturation InductionINVENTOR: Robert C. Q'HandleyABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREGlassy alloys containing cobalt, nickel and ironand evidencing near-zero magnetostriction and high saturationinduction are disclosed. The glassy alloys consist essentiallyof about 13 to 73 atom percent cobalt, about 5 to 50 atompercent nickel, about 2 to 17 atom percent iron, with theproviso that the total of cobalt, nickel and iron is about80 atom percent, and the balance essentially boron plusincidental impurities. The magnetostriction of the glassyalloys ranges from about +3 x 10-6 to -3 x 10-6 and thesaturation induction is at least about B kGauss.
