The planning element is used to plan the positions of objects, e.g. furniture or machines, within a fixed outline by means of symbols printed on the element. A room plan is attached by adhesive forces so that it can be detached again. The transparent film (7) of the planning element is provided with a layer (8) from which, after appropriate exposure, a copy of the exposure original can be developed. The object or objects are symbolised by printing symbols on the element.
