摘要
Profiles are reinforced with resin-impregnated glass-fibre strands, where mattings composed of parallel glass-fibre rovings which are connected by single fibres (monofils) are wound in several layers about a mandrel corresponding to the intended profile and coated with resin. Relatively very strong glass-fibre rods are incorporated between the mattings extending in direction of expected tensile stresses. These rods are arranged side-by-side at predetermined intervals upon the matting with which they are connected in wary pr weft fashion. The prods. easily absorb heavy tensile stresses such as may arise in high winds thus minimising the risk of fracture by flexural failure.
