Hank dyeing cellulosic-polyester fabrics in jet-dyeing apparatus - by exhaust method; the cellulose fibres being chemically pretreated

A liq. dyestuff concentrate is added continuously and with uniform distribution over the exhaust phase, to a dyebath pre-heated to the dyeing temp. and contg. no dyestuff. In this process, the dyestuff concn. in the dyebath remains slightly above the equilibrium concn. The novelty is that cellulose fibres can be dyed, their affinity to substantive dyes being increased by chemical treatment, (the liq. dyestuff concentrate is introduced into the dyebath at a position before the jet). For polyester-rayon mixtures also, uniform dyeings are obtd.
