The triangular table is proposed for use when discussing personal problems or when one of the parties is giving advice or counsel. The participants in the discussion do not sit directly facing each other but face each other obliquely. It is claimed that, according to scientific principles, the psychological barriers, between the particles to the discussion, are broken down and an atmosphere of mutual trust is created. This favourable psychological environment is not so likely to be engendered when discussions take place around a conventional four-sided table.
