A balance has a measurement transducer generating an analogue electrical signal, an evaluation circuit contg. an analogue-to-digital converter, and a display. It is a high accuracy device which need only be switched on shortly before a measurement when not continuously in use. The evaluation circuit contains a microprocessor and an automatic balancing comparator stage connected to the microprocessor via a digital-to-analogue converter. A null balance comparator stage is used to compensate the offset voltage of the measurement transducer and evaluation circuit.
