D=A converter using two conversion laws - has digital input applied to converter through modulator with inversion technique for digital bits in second law case
The digital/analog converter is designed to operate using both the A-law and the u-law. In the case of the u-law mode, all bits in the digital signal are inverted and specified code words are constructed and added to n bits of the digital signal. In the case of the A-law mode, the bits in the digital signal are not inverted and the code word is made zero. A decoder network is used with a PCM input to form a bit stream headed by the highest value bit (VZ) and m bits (A, B, C) of identification words and in bits (a, b, c) of unconverted digital words, line connections are made through a matrix to nodal points (VE1, 2,....12).
