The equipment prevents infection of a patient by germs from personnel taking part in the operation by application of exhaust system. The equipment has exhaust apertures in the immediate vicinity of points where germs occur, and which are distributed over all the parts of the body near the patient during the operation. Thus contaminated air is evacuated from the largest possible area. The personnel can wear operating gowns, under which the exhaust apertures are situated. Alternately the apertures may be formed directly in the fabric of the gowns. The apertures may be connected by hoses, worn by the personnel, to a suitable exhauster.
