Compounds of formula I IMAGE I wherein R1 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or benzyl, R2 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and either (i) A is .CH2.CH2.COOH; .CH2.CH(OH).COOH or .CH(OH).CH2.COOH and B is hydrogen, or (ii) A and B together are .CH2.CH(OH).CH2.; CH2.CH2.CH(OH); .CH2.CH(OH).CH(OH). or .CH(OH).CH2.CH(OH). are useful cerebral insufficiency agents.
