The refrigeration system has a precooler (SR1) so that the expansion valve (D) produces gas at a temp. close to th e evaporation temp. and increasing the temp. difference across the evaporator (E). The flow through the evaporator and the precooler is in the opposite direction to the flow of the heating medium. The system reduces the power required at the compressor coupling.
