The A/D converter has a device to select the conversion error code whose inputs are connected to the outputs of the measuring units and whose outputs act as the outputs for reading off the conversion error code. The magnitude of the standard parameter (=reference) with which the analog parameter is compared is proportional to the weighting of the corresponding code place in the code number. The magnitude of this standard parameter in each measuring unit is proportional to the corresponding Fibonacci p-number or the corresponding power of 'golden' p proportions which is a positive root of the equation xp+1 - xp-1- =0.
