Insulating coating of electro-steel sheet by application of a dispersion contg. 100 pts. CrO3, 13-16 pts. Mg ions, 1.5-4.5 pts. Ca ions and/or Sr ions, 25-45 pts. boric acid and 5-150 pts. resin as an organic resin emulsion, which is then calcined. Used as multiple layers forming cores of electric motors, transformers, etc. The coatings have excellent insulating, stamping and adhesion properties after calcining in air, and the need for an inert gas atmos., is eliminated.
