摘要
The winding connectors of the turbo-generator (1) are typically hollow cylindrical tubes of copper covered with insulation. In order to protect this insulation, and that of the out-going connectors (2), from attack by oil leaking through the core cooling ducts, the connections are contained in a sealed gland. The gland comprises a cone shaped flange (4) on which a cylindrical container (3) is mounted. Holes (30, 40) are provided in the flange and container base (31) for the out-going connectors (2). A sealing plate (7) fits over the hole in the container base with the gap between conductor and plate filled by a non-hardening sealant (14). The side walls (32) of the container (3) rise above the level of the conductors (1, 2) and the whole container is filled with a casting resin (13). Seals (15, 5) may also be provided at the flange to container joint. Oil collecting at the lowest part of the stator casing near the connections is prevented from entering the insulation. The principal application is to large turbo-generators with liquid cooled windings and connections, and liquid cooled stator core assembly. The stator casing is filled with an inert gas at a small overpressure and the use of a pressure vessel for the stator casing becomes unnecessary.
