Three=dimensional objects from flat thermoplastic material - esp. beakers, tubs without projecting rim in single operation

Before a sheet of flat thermoplastic material is introduced into a moulding die to form a container, it is clamped between two, co-operating shearing punches, without its being cut through. This is then put into the die and is completely cut through by the same punches. Pref. when the sheet is clamped it is immediately impressed by the cutting edges. The plant includes two half dies, the first of which has a shape corresp. to the model of the object to be formed, and which serves as a shearing punch. The second half of the die has a means of laying the material against the mould walls and also serves as shearing punch. Used for the prodn. of tub-like containers containers in a single operation, from thermoplastic film, which do not have a projecting rim where they are sepd. from the remainder of the film.
