METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PNEUMATICALLY LAUNCHING THE WEFT YARN IN A QUILL OF A LOOM PROVIDED WITH SEVERAL QUILLS

According to the method for launching the yarn weft (24, 24a) in the spools (9) of a loom, the yarn (24, 24a) of a determined length is introduced, by means of the air jet of an injector (23), into the weft storage box (29) of a spool (9) moving continuously in front of the injector. In order to rapidly provide the spool (9) with the yarn appropriate to the width of the fabric without applying excessive stresses to the yarn or without increasing the length of the weft storage box (29) of the spools (9), the injector (23) moves, along with the yarn (24, 24a) at a low speed on its launching within the storage box (29), the displacement being determined from a starting position; at the end of this displacement, the injector returns at high speed to its starting position.
