A cross-member extends between two vertical faces, and has a smooth cylindrical surface of small radius near the rotary cylinder. This surface is tangental to the latter along a horizontal line and on the descending side, and the cross-member and the vertical faces form a permanent reservoir for the viscous fluid, the cylindrical surface being immersed in it. A screw adjusted cross-member mounting block presses the surface against the cylinder. The cross-member can be in the form of a round bar mounted in the vertical faces and rotating, being pressed against the cylinder for the whole of its length.
