Methyl methacrylate polymer sheet is produced continuously by supplying methyl methacrylate, opt. mixed with an unsatd comonomer, or a partial polymsn pdt to one end of the sealed space defined between the surfaces of two endless, moving belts, polymerising the feed in this space, and discharging the polymer sheet from the other end of this space. The polymer sheet is maintained at 120-160 degrees C, and in the last step of polymsn is cooled at the rate of =20 esp. 20-0.5 degrees C/min until the temp lies between 120 and 105 degrees C while the sheet is held between the endless belts. The close temp. control gives high quality sheets with uniform properties, and a relatively high deformation temp.
