The elevator (1) is intended for filling a silo having partitions (6) for different grain size fractions in the same ratio as different fractions are simultaneously withdrawn from the silo to make up a mixture of pre-determined proportions. The partitions in the silo are parallel and the elevator is provided with similar partitions (2) with the same spacing. The elevator compartments are filled (3) in the required proportions at ground level and raised. After this the silo compartments are simultaneously replenished via chutes (5) by opening a common closure door.
