The long distance or langlauf binding for a long distance ski has an attachment device fitted on the ski holding the ski boot on the ski in the front area of its sole. The ski book may be freely lifted from the ski for a large extent of its length. The binding includes two plug-in connections consisting of two sections sliding into each in the longitudinal direction of the ski. The front end of one section is attached to the ski and that part located behind the former can to a large extent be swivelled up from the ski, with the other section being formed by the sole of the skiboot.
