The sheet grip mechanism is for a processing machine such as a printing press, having holding surfaces, one of which is coated with a base material in which sharp-edged grains are embedded. Between 70 and 80% of the grains (8.1, 8.2) differ in size (a) by a max. of 20 microns, and the largest grains (8.1) are of 80-micron size. The base material can be 40 microns thick, and the other grip surface can be of elastic material.
