摘要
Methyl formate is heated in the presence of carbon monoxide with the use of Pd, Ru, or Ir metal and/or cpd. as catalyst and halogen cpd. as co-catalyst to give acetic acid. Acetic acid is obtd. at high yield with the use of catalyst which is easily available at low cost. The metal cpd. includes carbonates, oxides, hydroxides, nitrates, bromides, iodides, chlorides, etc. The halogen cpd. includes methyl halides, acetyl halides, etc. An amt. of the catalyst to be used is 10 power minus 6 to 5 mole. An amt. of the co-catalyst to be used is 10 power minus 6 to 15 mole. The partial pressure of carbon monoxide is 0.5 to 350 atms. The reaction is conducted at 20 to 500 deg.C pref. 100 to 250 deg.C.
