New caprine, ovine or bovine immunosera contain antibodies specific to serum proteins present in the milk of a different animal species. The immunosera can be used to monitor the purity of milk and milk prods. esp. to detect adulteration of goat's or ewe's milk with cow's milk. Using a haemagglutination technique, traces as small as 0.1% can be detected with a relative error of ca. 30% (the lowest prior art detection limits are ca. 4-5%).
