The measuring equipment forthe frequency of a base band signal is esp. for Doppler pulse radar equipment and is based on an approximation method. A first section splits the signal into its orthogonal components. The latter are scanned with a frequency, fr, so that scanning valves, xi and yi are obtained. A second section determines the senses of the scanning values and stores them. A third section calculates the expressions Ri equals haf of Y : + 1.Xi-Xi+1.Y: and Si equals half of Y:+1.Yi+X:+1.X: from the senses of sequential pairs of scanning values xi,yi, Xi+1, Yi+1. In these expressions X and Y are 1 when the senses of the correso. scanning values are positive and -1 when they are negative. A fourth section calculates the mean values for Ri and Si ascertained from N scanning values.
