Double synchronous locomotive motor control circuit - drives respective locomotive axles using four-pole network with opposing thyristors and two oscillators connected to motor induction coils
The circuit comprises a 4-pole network which has a DC source and an inductor (7) in two opposing branches and two DC/AC converters (3,4) in two further opposing branches, each with its AC output respectively coupled to the energising winding of one of the motors (1,2). A further pair of opposing branches each have a thyristor (8,9) with a central unit (5) for firing them in alternance. Pref. the DC cource comprises a rectifier (6) coupled to an AC supply. The motors (1,2) provide equal couples for the two drive axles of a train and the circuit ensures correct firing of the thyristor at low motor revolutions rates. The two separate motors (1,2) can be replaced by a single motor with two energising windings.
