In a method of fusion bonding a polypropylene member 1 and a further member 2 formed from polypropylene or a high density polyethylene over an interface bonding portion, a solid thermoplastic elastomeric block copolymer 5 of rigid polystyrene end blocks and dual center blocks of ethylene-butylene or ethylene-propylene is interposed between the members 1, 2 over said interface bonding portion. The interface bonding portion is then rapidly heated to change the thermoplastic elastomeric material to heat softened bonding state for a period on the order of seconds, whereafter the interface portion is cooled to form a fusion bond between said elastomeric material 5 and the embers 1, 2. The elastomeric material contains heat generating particles which may be heatable by a high frequency alternating magnetic field established by a coil 7, by dielectric heating or by infra-red energy.
