Lightweight panel with textile reinforcement - has longitudinal connecting threads with alternating crests between two coarse mesh pile fabric layers

Slabs or panels made from plastics foam or lightweight concrete, suitable for internal walls and ceilings and other structures, are reinforced by pile fabrics. Two fabric layers (1,2) can be spaced and interconnected by threads (4) which form spacers between them. These upper and lower horizontal layers have a coarse mesh, and the connecting threads are parallel and looped between them. Each connecting thread passes under a cross-thread (5) of the bottom layer (2) to slope upwards, then travel over and under three consecutive cross-threads of the upper layer (1). Then it slopes downwards again, to form a loop. Each connecting thread is parallel to the longitudinal threads (7) of the upper and lower layers, and is interposed between each pair of longitudinal threads. The loops are staggered between each other, the crests of the loops being alternately at the top and bottom.
