Crop drying shed using solar heat - has glazed tunnel with reflectors and black blades to discharge heated air into shed

The crop drying installation is intended for tobacco leaf or hay drying. It uses solar heat to warm the air circulated through the system. A solar heating tunnel with parallel channels is connected to a collector duct across its end, for discharging the heated air into the interior of a shed. This tunnel has a sloping roof so that its discharge end is larger than its inlet end, and has a steel frame with an IR reflective surface (9) inside the base, under a transparent foil or double glazed roof. Suspended from the frame is a system of black blades (10) between which the heated air circulates as it is conveyed towards the discharge end. A regulating swing baffle is mounted at the outlet of the collector duct, with a stop limiting its swing. The baffle also controls a branch connection to a heat storage device which receives excess heat.
