The ski is used esp. for downhill work. It has a ski body absorbing the side forces with side edge elements used as guides with a centre guide as well as a covering forming the running surface. The running surface (12) at least for certain sections of the length of the ski (1) and on either side of the centre guide (18) has a shape which is largely bulbous in cross section. The cross section curvature of the bulbous areas of the running surface is symmetrical relative to the central guide (18).
