White writing ink comprises a resin whitening agent (I) and a swelling agent (II) for (I) as a non-aq. dispersion. (I) is PVC, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or urea-HCHO condensation prod. (II) is an acetic acid ester which can be evapd. (II) is pref. ethyl-, butyl-, propyl- and/or amyl acetate and comprises 50-80% of the dispersion. The compsn. may contain a (II) soluble opt. chlorinated benzoic acid pref. 2-chlorobenzoic acid, a (II) soluble organometallic cpd. which forms an insoluble hydrolysis prod. after evapn. of (II) esp. tetraisopropyl- titanate and a film former esp. a styrene pearl polymer. The benzoic acid and (I) are pref. used in similar amts. of 15%. The amt. of organometallic cpd. is pref. not greater than 10%. The ink has high whiteness, dries quickly and can be used in writing implements with writing heads having fine channels without any blockage of the channels. There is no sedimentation of resin in the dispersion.
