Medicaments contg. (a) an antimicrobial agent, (b) an enzyme, (c) an anti-inflammatory, (d) opt. a local anaesthetic, (e) opt. a keratolylic agent, (f) opt. a mucolytic agent, and (g) opt. an emulsifying agnet, are new. Antimicrobials for use in dermatology, oto-rhinolaryngology and pneumology are rapid acting. (a) is typically an aminoglycoside, a penicillin, a cephalosporin. The enzyme (b) is pref. hyalouronidase, streptokinase, streptodonase, etc., (c) may be a natural or synthetic corticoid. Suitable local anaesthetics (d) include procaine, while the keratolytic agent (e) may be tretinoine, salicylic acid, or resorcinol benzoic acid. The mucolytic agent (f) is generally cysteine, and the emulsifying agent (f) is generally cysteine, and the emulsifying agent (g) may be polysorbate, sorbitan, or sodium lauryl sulphate.
