The pressure sensor is for medical use for the measurement of micro displacements and comprises a deformable mirror with a fibre optical conductor to transmit the light. This method avoids damping of pressure variation and time constant effects. A small diameter flexible tube (4) comprising a catheter has a mirror (1) mounted at one end and a connecting element (5) at the other end to permit connection to a complementary assembly. This assembly contains a light source and also measures the reflected light due to displacement or deformation of the mirror due to the pressure effects. The transmitted and reflected light is carried by an optical fibre (2) whose tip is separated by a predetermined distance from the mirror and is supported by a ring (6).
