摘要
Texture- and impurity-sensitive special ceramics, such as semiconductor, capacitor and piezoelectric materials, are ground using grinding bodies of a powder metallurgically- produced titanium-oxygen alloy contg. 0.5-15 atomic percent oxygen and 0.03-7.5 atomic percent nitrogen. Pref. the bodies are prepared for use by grinding in water for max. 100 hrs. and are pref. used in a grinding drum lined with the same alloy. Wear of the grinding bodies is low and the time and energy required to give a given grinding fineness is reduced. The product has a uniform granulometry giving improved homogeneity on sintering (this is important in prodn. of ceramic varistors to prevent preferred current paths and thus, local The amt. of solids in the grinding process can be increased to reduce grinding energy costs and the expense of dewatering the prod.
