A tubular mandrel for temporarily supporting a tubular flexible film compressed longitudinally is coated with PTFE to allow the film to be withdrawn again more easily. Esp. applicable to prodn. of sausages, for supporting sausage casings in an automatic sausage-making machine. The coating reduces frictional forces.
