1. Method of constructing tanks of swimming pool type for the nuclear industry, of the kind comprising first of all providing a concrete mass (1) whose free face (1a) is set back relatively to a wall intended to be a support for a metal lining (10), then mounting hollow vertical metal section members (3-4) such that the face turned towards the inside of the tank is situated level with the aforesaid support wall, and then constructing the latter between the said section members (3-4), characterized in that there are superposed edgewise between two lateral retaining flanges projecting towards one another on two adjacent section members (3-4), a series of panels (5) made of rigid material so as to form over a portion of the height of the tank a lost formwork whose face directed towards the interior of the tank coincides with the desired support wall, then the free space (9) left between the mutually facing faces of the mass (1) and the said panels (5) is furnished with concrete, the operations are renewed to construct the entire height of the tank, and the metal lining (10) is placed against the support wall constituted by the free face of the assembly of panels (5) which have been used.
