The machine is for the application of chemicals, fertiliser etc. under the soil surface, having shares of roughly triangular section drawn through it in the horizontal direction with their points to the front, and supported on vertical bars. Metering devices for the chemical etc. are mounted under the shares, above which there are soil crumbling tools. These latter can be in the form of tines, blades etc., on a rotary shaft, and the share bars can be bent to make room for the shaft. The tines can be arranged to run close along the shares.
