The welded metal mesh panel comprises parallel secondary wires or bars fixed at uniform centres on primary wires in a similar but perpendicular arrangement. The primary wires are locally deformed into contiguous omega formations at specified longitudinal centres, the formations lying in planes normal to the major mesh plane and projecting on the side devoid of secondary wires. The mouth of each omega shape may be closed by welding. The arrangement provides flexural stiffness in the direction of the secondary wires whilst avoiding dirt traps. Larger omega formations may contain several secondary wires and may be closed by a large dia. bar.
